Editor Obsession: books by Nicholas Sparks
So these romance novels may not be the most realistic of all the books out on the shelves, but they are definitely the perfect find if you're in the mood for an adorable, sometimes heart wrenching love story.
Did you watch The Notebook when it came out in theaters and automatically fall in love with the story of Noah and Allie? I know I did. The Notebook was a huge hit and a definite favorite for tons of watchers, but the movie was actually based on a book by Nicholas Sparks. And, there's a sequel. The Wedding is actually a continuation of the awesome love story of Noah and Allie, but focuses more on the relationship between their daughter, Jane, and her husband Wilson.
Nicholas Sparks has written lots of other novels like A Message in a Bottle, The Guardian and The Rescue. My ultimate favorite, however, is A Walk to Remember, which was made into a movie starring Mandy Moore. It's a tear-jerking story about surprising love. The book begins by stating "First you will smile, and then you will cry—don't say that you haven't been warned." This may seem like a pretty bold statement, but it's a true one. This book's a must read, perfect if you’re in the mood for a good cry (and believe me, you will shed a tear or two!).
Nights in Rodanthe, based on another book by Sparks, is out in theaters, and I can't wait to go watch it! And Sparks’ latest book, The Lucky One was just released. It's a story about destiny and how a man's brush with death leads him to the love of his life. I haven't read it yet, but it's on my to do list.
Have you watched or read any stories by Nicholas Sparks? If you're not a fan, what kind of books are on your reading list?
