Teenage cousins Cooper and Gordy are out bike riding with their friends Hiro and Lunk late in the afternoon. The group promised their parents they’d be home by dark, so they’re in a hurry, but they’re getting tired, so they stop to take a break.

Suddenly, the gang notices a van drive by with a backpack stuck on the roof. When Gordy decides to chase after it to let the driver know he left his bag on top, Cooper, Hiro and Lunk all watch from a distance as the driver pulls Gordy into the van and drives off.

After what seems like years of searching, the police are beginning to give up hope of finding Gordy. So Cooper, Hiro and Lunk take it upon themselves to try to find Gordy, putting their own lives on the line. Despite the dangers, the friends continue their search, even when they begin to doubt he is still alive.

This exhilarating book is no doubt a must-read! If you’re into action and mystery, you won’t be able to put Back Before Dark down.
