Prom & Prejudice
How many of you dream about going to prom? Finding the perfect
dress, doing your hair and makeup and, most importantly, getting a great date?
Well that’s exactly how Lizzie Bennett, the protagonist of Prom
& Prejudice by Elizabeth Eulberg, feels. She is a student at Longbourn
Academy—but on scholarship. Her best friend, Jane, is obsessed with prom and
longs to go with Charles Bingley now that he’s back from a semester in London.
When Charles returns, he brings along his seemingly stuck-up friend Will Darcy,
who complicates, well, everything.
A modern homage to Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, this
read will give you the setting of modern-day prep school life with an 18th
century English story. The characters are more relatable and the dialogue is
fresh and funny. Our only hang up? This latest tale seems less romantic because
it’s missing the language and details Jane Austen had in her gem of a book.
If you’re a fan of Pride and Prejudice, or want to know the
story without getting caught up in fancy language, check out Prom &
Prejudice (available this January).
What’s the biggest thing you’re looking forward to about prom? Blog about it, babes.
