Hope for Haiti Telethon!
Looking for something to do tonight? In light of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake and the 6.1 magnitude after-shock in Haiti, MTV has decided to sponsor a T.V. telethon dubbed “Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief” to raise money and funds for the Haitian relief effort. And it’s all happening TONIGHT!
Hosts George Clooney, Anderson Cooper and Haiti-born Wyclef John will be joined by other celebs like Robert Pattinson, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and many more to support this global cause. Many artists, such as Bono, Jay-Z and Rihanna are even working on collaborations to perform during the special event. It’s reported that all donations will directly benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef's Yele Haiti Foundation.
Wanna get in on the action? “Hope for Haiti” will air tonight at 8 p.m. ET/PT, 7 p.m. CT on all major networks including CNN, BET, MTV, VH1, CMT and The CW. Be sure to tune in and donate! Many celebs have already donated quite generously, but any contribution is still a huge help. For more info on how you can donate to this great cause, visit Yahoo! Network for Good.
Have you donated to this global effort? Are you a part of a global organization for donations? Blog about it, babes.
