Must List
These Hunger Games songs belong on your November playlist
Start practicing your side braid, maybe rummage through your bin of trinkets to find that old Mockingjay pin and *definitely* start your rewatch of The Hunger Games series ASAP. Why? Well, bc if 1989 (Taylor's Version) wasn't a sufficient dose of 2014 magic for you, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (aka the newest Hunger Games movie) will immerse you in peak 2010s nostalgia.
With the release quickly approaching, we want to walk you through a very specific avenue of THG series—which is, ofc, the amazing music it's given us over the years.
"Can't Catch Me Now" by Olivia Rodrigo
Okay, so this isn't a throwback, but it *is* an instant classic. Olivia Rodrigo just released the song "Can't Catch Me Now" for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, making it the latest (and dare we say, the best?) addition to the collection of fantastic songs this series has to offer.
Olivia has given us punk with a punch and teary ballads galore, but this track is totally different for her. We love to see her have an acoustic moment and write lyrics that artistically tell this story (without giving away any spoilers!).
It's safe to say that Livies are loving it. Even Olivia's mom is a fan. See the proof:

"Safe and Sound (feat. Joy Williams and John Paul White) (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift
Taylor's song for The Hunger Games is a beautiful acoustic piece that *totally* deserves a place on your November playlist. With all the incredible things Taylor has accomplished over the years, maybe her song for The Hunger Games slipped out of your memory. Well, luckily, Taylor didn't let this one get left behind—she re-released it this year.
"Eyes Open (Taylor's Version)" by Taylor Swift
This is another T-Swift tune that made it onto The Hunger Games soundtrack. It has that adventurous essence that makes it the perfect background music for re-reading the series (or reading The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes before going to see the movie!).
And so much more...
Tbh, there are so many songs from these movies that are worth checking out. You can find all of them in this playlist!
