Disney just announced its first plus-size female protagonist as part of the new short film Reflect.

The six-minute film, which is now streaming on Disney+, tells the story of Bianca, a plus-size ballet dancer. Bianca is discouraged about her reflection and struggles with self-doubt as she rehearses. But through dancing, she overcomes her insecurities—becoming more confident in her own body.

The short film's message about body image is one that so many of us can relate to, and we're glad Disney is finally diving into the topic of body positivity. In fact, according to The Daily Mail, in Disney's 85-year history, plus-size characters have only been featured in the roles of villains or extras. (So, yeah, it's about time.) This short film could not only inspire plus-size queens to live confidently, but also set a new precedent for Disney heroines.
