Yesterday, Lorde released "Green Light," the first single from her upcoming summer album, Melodrama. Today, I've done nothing else but listen to the track.

The song starts dramatically (as most of Lorde's music does) and then quickly switches to upbeat piano, going back and forth between the two throughout the song. Lorde sings about a breakup and her want for independence, something that we cal *all* relate to. The video shows that, too, as Lorde dances alone, leaves the club alone and boogies on top of her Uber driver's car...alone. 

About the track, the 20-year-old singer told Beats 1 radio, "The song is about a heartbreak and it's not something that I really am used to writing about. It took me a while to figure out how to write about that."
