A Glee rival?

Think music. Think TV. Think of a whole bunch of students coming together to rebuild an arts program in their high school. OK, we’re NOT talking about Glee, but Madison High—a potential new hit for the Disney Channel.

Info was just released that the channel will start filming the new music and dance-driven pilot this March (which might rival our adored FOX obsession), in the hopes it will be picked up for a 2012 series.

Remember Ms. Darbus, the over the top drama teacher from East High in Disney’s High School Musical? Well, she’s been transferred, is now teaching theater at Madison High, and has her eye on six uber talented students.

So, who’s playing these kids in the pilot?
Luke Benward. You might recognize him from Minutemen. Well, you might not. He’s certainly grown up! This 15-year-old is a certified cutie, and he’ll be taking on the role of motocross racer Devin Daniels.

Leah Lewis. Brand new to Disney Channel, this gal will be playing a tennis champion who used to be homeschooled. Leah’s been in some commercials, but taking on this new series will be her first big thing!

G Hannelius. What show hasn’t this 12-year-old made an appearance on? Hannah Montana, Sonny With A Chance, Good Luck Charlie. It’s about time she got her own.

As far as the last three main characters, Disney is still deciding who should fill the roles as the President of the Drama Club, the artsy anime chick and the high school socialite.

Who do you think should be cast? Does this new HSM and Glee-like show sound like a hit or a total bust? Blog about it, babes.
