Help Ariel Winter (and other celebs) honor the troops
This holiday season, the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment)
and NBC have teamed up with Ariel Winter (you probably know her as the brainiac
middle child on ABC’s hilarious comedy Modern Family) to honor thousands of
military service men and women with the third annual WWE Tribute to The Troops holiday
special, airing at 9 p.m. ET this Saturday, Dec. 18, on NBC.
The one-hour event will feature many celebrities including
Sean “Diddy” Combs, Trace Adkins, Sherri Shepard from The View, and Rima
Fakih, the reigning Miss USA. It will also chronicle the celebs during their
emotional and heartfelt meetings with the troops and their families.
Thousands of the men and women stationed in Fort Hood,
Texas, where the special was taped, were in the audience for the event. The
performers thanked them for their dedication and bravery overseas, as many of
them had served in Iraq or Afghanistan, with musical tributes. Ariel Winter
even opened the event by singing the National Anthem.
Though this is only the third year Tribute to the Troops has
been televised, it marks the eighth year the WWE has honored the United States
Armed Forces with its unique form of entertainment. The special is now
considered one of the most patriotic, emotional, and heart-warming tributes of
the year.
Be sure to tune in this Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on NBC for all
of the action.
If you could share a special thank you to all of the troops out there, what would you say? Blog about it, babes.
