Finally! More cash for healthy lunches
It looks like eating good-for-you food at school is gonna be a whole lot easier soon.
The New York Times reported that more money than ever is going to your cafeterias. The Department of Agriculture is going to upgrade school food nutrition standards this year, which means eating healthier could be right around the corner.
When these standards are upped, it will be a lot harder for schools to feed you fried and processed foods and sugary treats. Instead of noshing syrupy fruits and ho-hum veggies that have been sitting in a can for weeks and weeks, you’ll be getting served the real deal.
Plus, the government is sending an extra billion dollars to go towards your midday meal. This means your schools will be better equipped to serve more nutritious foods, too. Bon appetit, girlies!
Blog it out...If your schools served better lunches, would you eat more caf food? Do your lunch ladies serve up nutritious foods?
