Meet the first Barbie to wear a hijab

Bye-bye, blonde Barbie. Every girl's fave doll just a major (and multi-cultural) makeover—she can now come sporting a hijab.
Based off of star fencer Ibtihaj Muhammad, who was the first American to compete in the Olympics wearing a hijab back in 2016, the new Barbie will be part of the company's "Shero" line, which celebrates amazingly strong women like Gabby Douglas and Misty Copeland, to name a few.
Muhammad, who also won a bronze medal in the Olympics (#goals), tweeted earlier this week, "I’m proud to know that little girls everywhere can now play with a Barbie who chooses to wear hijab! This is a childhood dream come true." And at the Glamour Women of the Year summit, she echoed that sentiment, explaining how she hopes this Barbie inspires girls everywhere to be strong, brave and confident. And we 10 out of 10 agree.
