USA wins Women's World Cup!
We couldn't be more thrilled for our country's awe-inspiring soccer team. In case you missed it, the U.S. Women's National team beat Japan 5-2 in a seriously impressive match last night. Carli Lloyd, the two-time Olympic gold medalist and instant hero, scored three of the USA’s five goals, and *two* of them were in the first five minutes of the game.
Lloyd was also named star player of the tournament, and, no big deal, the president tweeted about her. She's now one of only two players in history to score a hat trick in a World Cup final. And even if soccer isn't your thing, you've gotta watch the highlights from the game, where you'll see the impressive goal she nailed from mid-field.

The game was crazy, and all the U.S. ladies kicked major butt. The team scored four goals in the first 15 minutes of the game, which basically broke the internet and proved that the entire nation was supporting these all-star athletes. For most of the first half, it was questionable whether Japan would even score, but they eventually nabbed one. In the second half, a player from the U.S. headed a ball into her own goal, which lead to Japan's second point.
These ladies dished up an awesome birthday gift for the entire country to enjoy.
Are you pumped about this victory? Were you watching the big game?
