Extra, extra, read all about it: Nia Sioux is basically human sunshine, and we can't get enough of her good-vibes-only 'tude. If you follow Nia on Insta, you know she's all about fierce fits, sweet moments with the fam and spending quality time with her squad. We got a chance to chat with Nia about all of her upcoming projects (Music? Yes, pls), her partnership with SUNNYD and more. Scroll to see what this Dance Moms alum has scheduled this summer (when she's not making hilarious TikToks, ofc).

Girls' Life: We're so happy to be back chatting with you. What have you been up to this summer?
Nia: I've actually been working with SUNNYD and their Summer ReFresh Contest, which was a contest on TikTok where fans could win a cash prize and some SUNNYD merch, as well as some SUNNYD lemonades—I love the classic and raspberry flavors. It was super cool seeing everyone dueting my video. 

GL: And SUNNYD has its own Swag Shop. Do you have a favorite piece that you're really into?
Nia: I personally love their bucket hat. I mean, we obviously live for the tie-dyed shirts, but the bucket hat is just so perfect for summer. The shop has so many cute pieces from shirts and shorts to slides, so I'm all SUNNYD-ed out this summer. I have it all. 

GL: Love it. We've seen pictures of the merch on your Insta, and we're obsessed. What TikTok fashion trends have caught your eye this summer?
Nia: Personally, I love sandals and slides, but I'm also really into hats. Bucket hats, baseball caps, cowboy hats...I just love accessories. And I hope that I can snag some cute sunglasses for the season, too. 

GL: Summer's such a great accessory season. And what's a typical day in the life for you while you're on vacay from school?
Nia: My summers are always different. This year, I'm traveling a lot—so you can probably catch me on a plane. I just went to Paris, and I'm headed on a family trip later this season, too. One of my favorite things to do is travel, so I'm really just so excited to spend time outside and see new places again. 

GL: So cool!  Can you tell us anything about your future plans and upcoming projects?
Nia: I just filmed a movie in New York. I can't say much about it yet, but it was really fun. I also have music in the works, so hopefully you guys can hear it soon. I'm always working on something!

GL: Amazing. Speaking of music, what kind of music do you like to listen to? Which artists influence your sound the most?
Nia: I like pop, R&B, EDM. And I like Drake's new album. As for artists that inspire me, definitely Kehlani and H.E.R. But then I also really like Julia Michaels and the way she writes. And I *love* Tayla Parx. When I go into the studio, those are the artists I listen to—that I love—and that I use as my inspiration.

GL: Lastly, we have to know: What's one Nia-approved summer staple that you always have in your bag?
Nia: I always have chapstick on me. Always. And sunscreen. Those are the two things that I keep in my bag. And, tbh, I always keep sweats in my car. Even though it's summer, it can get a little chilly in the evenings! Gotta stay comfy.
