BREAKING: Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett are releasing an album together

Time to rewatch High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and revamp your "sad girl hours" playlist, because Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett are releasing a new album...together!

These two are no strangers to a swoon-worthy duet: They recorded the songs "Even When/The Best Part" and "Just for a Moment" together as childhood besties-to-exes-to-lovers Ricky and Nini on HSMTMTS. While they juggled friendship, feuds and falling in love onscreen, Rodrigo and Bassett were heavily speculated to be involved in their own relationship saga IRL.

Over the past year, this talented twosome put out some srsly amazing solo music—and while nothing much has been confirmed, fans have theorized that some of those tracks just might be about those events. Now, the stars are teaming up to tell their own story...from both sides. Could this be the start of something new?

The album is rumored to be released in the fall of 2022 (perfectly poised to become the *ultimate* soundtrack to your holiday szn), and we have alllll the deets.

"The album is going to be split into two parts," a source close to the artists reveals. The first part includes songs by Olivia Rodrigo, recalling the early days of getting to know each other and growing closer. "I think we'll be hearing some unreleased songs from Sour...but you didn't hear it from me."

The second half is Joshua Bassett's collection, which shares the aftermath of the drama that went down between the duo. Finally, the album closer is a duet—and we have a feeling it'll be a total hit. "I'm so here for this," a fan tweeted in response to the news.

While they're reuniting for this album, Bassett and Rodrigo are continuing to thrive in their solo careers, each working on new music. You'll also see them on your screens again in their new Disney+ films—documentary driving home 2 u for Rodrigo and musical-comedy Better Nate Than Ever for Bassett. And of course, HSMTMTS season three was just recently confirmed! So while you wait for the album, you'll def have plenty to keep you busy. We couldn't be more excited for them!

P.S. April Fools! Did we get you? While there's no new album from these two to look forward to, you can check out their new projects now on Disney+!
