Whoa! The biggest celeb transformations of the last decade

Before we kiss the 2010s goodbye forever, it's time to look back at just how far your favorite celebs have come over the last 10 years. These eight transformations have us shook...not just because the stars switched up their looks, but because they changed their lives in major ways.

Taylor Swift: From country star to pop star

In 2010, Taylor Swift released her third studio album, Speak Now, and with tracks like "Mean" and "Mine," her sound was still decidedly country. Within the last 10 years, Tay has spread her wings musically, adopting an edgier pop sound with albums like 1989 and Lover, has scored not one—but two—"Album of the Year" Grammy Awards, and reportedly racked up a cool $825 million along the way. On the personal front, after sorting through a long list of ex-lovers, she's now happy with actor Joe Alwyn.

Kylie Jenner: From little sis to billionaire

Keeping Up With the Kardashians was only in its third season in 2009, so we were just getting to know Kylie Jenner as the youngest sib in reality TV's most famous family. Flash forward to now and season 17 is airing on E!, Kylie has become a mom to daughter Stormi and, oh yeah, she's worth a billion dollars thanks to her uber popular lip kits.

Miley: From Hannah Montana to paving her own path

In 2010, Miley Cyrus was at peak Hannah Montana fame and was gearing up for the release of The Last Song, the Nicholas Sparks flick that brought her face-to-face with a young Australian actor named Liam Hemsworth. The next 10 years brought about *a lot* of stages—from the "Can't Be Tamed" rebel years, to her wedding and divorce from Liam. Lately, Miley's been making more chilled-out music, but we're sure the next 10 years will have her reinventing herself yet again!

Ariana Grande: From TV sidekick to center stage

Victorious, the show that made Ariana Grande a household name, premiered on Nickelodeon on March 27, 2010. In less than 10 years, Ari starred in her own spin-off Sam & Cat, released five studio albums, scored 15 Top-10 hits, and became one of the most powerful women in music. The decade has also been marked by some heartbreak for Ariana. On May 22, 2017, a suicide bomber killed 23 fans at her concert in Manchester, United Kingdom, and since then, Ariana's been vocal about her mental health struggles, becoming a positive example for fans who may also be struggling.

Justin Bieber: From boy-next-door to all. the. tattoos.

The boy who climbed the charts with "Baby" isn't a baby anymore! The last 10 years have seen major changes for Justin Bieber: His music has matured, and he has, too. Things got rocky in the mid-2010s, when Justin had a few unfortunate run-ins with the law, but with his marriage to Hailey Baldwin Bieber going well and new music on the way next month, this next decade could be a good one for JB.

Selena Gomez: From sweetheart to #girlboss

In 2010, Selena Gomez proved she could make the jump from the small screen to the big screen with a starring role in Ramona & Beezus. Since then, though, she has prioritized her music (does "The Heart Wants What It Wants," "Same Old Love" and "It Ain't Me" ring a bell?!). While her career is no doubt riding high, the last few years also brought about a ton of personal change for Selena. She was diagnosed with lupus, received a kidney transplant from friend Francia Raisa, broke up with Justin Bieber for good, and got real about her mental health struggles. Next, she'll release her third studio album, Rare, on January 10, ushering in a new decade of Selena.

Nick Jonas: From youngest brother to leading man

In the early 2010s, the Jonas Brothers were a solid unit, but that all changed on October 29, 2013, when they announced that they'd be disbanding, at least temporarily. Nick Jonas stepped out on his own with mega hits "Jealous" and "Chains," and also pursued acting with a role in the TV series Kingdom. Recently, though, he's back with his bros and enjoying renewed success as a trio with hits "Sucker" and "Only Human." Don't think Nick's been busy enough? He also found the time to marry actress Priyanka Chopra in 2018.

Demi Lovato: From Disney darling to activist

Over the last 10 years, Demi Lovato consistently churned out hits like "Give Your Heart a Break," "Cool for the Summer" and "Sorry Not Sorry," but she also made headlines for her personal struggles. Demi has been honest about having an eating disorder, dealing with anxiety and seeking treatment for alcohol and substance abuse. She has also used her voice to spread awareness about issues like LGBTQ rights, anti-gun violence and mental health.
