Taylor Swift went the extra mile for one fan with a terminal illness

When 4-year-old Jalene Salinas found out she had terminal brain cancer, she and her family came up with a list of everything she wanted to do before she died. What she wanted most? To dance with Taylor Swift to the singer's hit song "Shake It Off." After friends, family and strangers were moved by Jalene's story, a Twitter campaign used the hashtag #ShakeItOffJalene to get Taylor's attention – and it totally worked.

Tay, famous for doing just about anything for her fans, did the best she could to make Jalene's dreams come true by calling her and her mom and FaceTiming with the two of them. Though Jalene wasn't feeling well enough to talk much, she and Tay video chatted for over twenty minutes, talking about Jalene's little brother Josh, Tay's song and how Jalene was feeling.

After talking to Taylor, Jalene had finished all the tasks on her wish list. "We can check everything off and as her mom it just, it means the world to me that she got to do and see and everything is checked off now," Jalene's mom, Jennifer Arrigas, told Taylor. "It means so much to me that you reached out to us."

Are you as touched by this story as we are? Share your thoughts in the comments and don't forget to send your love and support to Jalene using the hashtag #ShakeItOffJalene.
