When you hear "Disney," "princess" is probably one of the first things you think. After all, the Disney princesses are super famous and there's a good chance you grew up watching movies about them and all of their different lives. What you haven't seen before, though, is a Latina Disney princess, but that's all about to change.

Sometime next year, Disney will introduce a new princess in an episode of Sofia the First on Disney Junior. Her name is Elena of Avalor, she's sixteen and she's totally rad. But that's not all – we're not just meeting Elena once in Sofia the First, Elena's also going to get her own spin-off Disney Junior show where she's the star. Not only are we getting the first Latina Disney princess, we're also geting a full show following her and her adventures.

We love how Disney is expanding their horizons and including stories about girls from all different backgrounds. It's super cool that kids everywhere will get to learn more about Latin cultures and stories, and we love how Latina little girls will finally get to see a Disney princess that's like them.
