GL: So Clare, how did you become interested in acting?

Clare: I started acting when I was five years old. My older brothers were doing it and having fun so I wanted to do it, too! 

GL: What drew you to the role of Ivy Pepper?

Clare: I didn't know what I was trying out for when I auditioned because the project was confidential. When I booked it, I loved the role because she is an iconic character, yet no one has ever played her at a young age. 

GL: Have you read any of the Batman comics or watched the old movies?

Clare: Yes, I have four brothers who are Batman fans, so I have watched many Batman movies, cartoons, and read some of the comics!

GL: What's the best part about playing Ivy?

Clare: My favorite part of playing Ivy is getting to walk on set in her costume. It feels like I am actually stepping into the world of Gotham and into Ivy’s complicated, sad life. It’s like becoming another person and that’s really fun.

GL: Can you tell us anything about what Poison Ivy fans look forward to in the rest of the season?

Clare: Ivy is on the streets now, her parents are dead and she is just trying to survive at this point. I can't say too much more without giving anything away.

GL: Fair enough. If you could have any super power, what power would you want?

Clare: Teleportation so I would be able to go anywhere in the world in one second!

GL: If you could play any other super hero or super villain, who would you want to play?

Clare: Batgirl, because then I would get to play two different roles in the same show; a hero and a villain.
