Project Runway: Sequins, Feathers and Fur, OH MY!

Uh-oh! Eight designers left and this week there's NO more immunity.

At the start of the episode, the crew is totally surprised (and excited!) when they're brought to fashion legend and costume designer Bob Mackie's studio. Mackie, a.k.a. "The Sultan of Sequins," has designed stage looks for super talented singers like Madonna, Tina Turner and Cher.

The challenge: To create an "extravagant stage look" for, drum roll please…Christina Aguilera!

And the gang is off to Mood where everyone loads up on all kinds of luxe and loud fabrics—feathers, leather, fur, sparkle, sheen and sequins!
Workroom Drama

The designers get to work with mixed feelings about the challenge. Nicolas, who idolizes Bob Mackie, is SUPER excited to be working with sequins. Carol Hannah seems a li'l nervous and the other designers are baffled with what Irina called her "cheap Halloween fabric." Shirin, going for an "old Hollywood glamour" gown, creates a piece-y dress full of inserts galore while Christopher seems pumped to create an '80s punky prom look.
Tim Time

Tim comes in and has a thing or two to say. He totally disses Gordana's white beaded gown, dubbing it "matronly." He calls Nicolas' look as a "deja-vu" of his fantasy piece. And he tells Shirin that her frock looks like "a bad 16-year-old's prom dress." Eek! Can the contestants make it work?

Freakouts aside, there's some flirting in this episode, too. C.H. the "funny little Southern belle" and our fave PR hottie Logan seem to be a getting a li'l ga-ga for one another. "Logan's my friend…" Carol Hannah insists. "Who's also REALLY hot!" she adds blushing. Ooo la la!
The Judges Weigh In

Time to hit the runway! Who's judging this week? Bob Mackie (YAY!) and our regulars Nina and Heidi. PLUS! Christina Aguilera herself!

As Heidi dismisses Gordana she says it's a good thing G had immunity this time around or she probably would've faced elimination. We agree. Her white dress was NOT something we could ever see Ms. Aguilera in.

Who wins? Our girl C.H. finally takes home first place. Even though it was a challenge for her, she totally nailed it. Everyone loved the mixture of black fabrics—feathers, sparkles and more! We agree. It was an amazing dress and we could sooo see Christina in it. Carol Hannah is thrilled to "finally be recognized!"
(Left to Right: Nicolas and Althea)
Nicolas'  number managed to impress Mr. Mackie! Bob called his piece, "a great work dress, perfect for someone who wants to move around the stage." Althea's long silver and gold sequined gown was OK'ed. The judges loved the lines of her dress and her clever use of sequins. So flattering.  Logan's dress, although a little "cavewomanish" is a go, too.
(Left to Right: Christopher and Shirin)
It's Christopher vs. Shirin for the bottom two. The judges hated Christopher's ensemble calling it "tasteless" and a "Lady Marmalade repeat." But they were even more disappointed with Shirin, calling her dress "dowdy" and comparing it to a "upscale Halloween witch costume." Eek. In the end, Shirin is out and Christopher stays.

What’ll go down in next week’s eppy? Stay tuned for more drama and out-there designs!
