Your guide to rocking velvet this winter

Each year, we get so excited to see the new trend of the season. And with 2018 right around the corner, we’re especially here for velvet making a huge comeback. But let’s be honest: Rocking the velvet trend isn’t the easiest thing to do. No worries, though...we’ve got the best style inspo to help you rock any velvet item in your closet a la Zendaya.

The Dress

Velvet dresses are so pretty and so in. If your dress is a spaghetti strap like this one, keep warm by layering a long-sleeved shirt underneath. Sleek black tights with booties is another cozy-cute option.

The Blazer

This is one of our favorites because the velvet transforms the blazer into something eye-catching and totally Instagram-worthy. Rock your velvet blazer like you would with any other blazer in your closet, aka with a chic button down or a basic dress.

The Ankle Bootie

The velvet ankle bootie is what all the bloggers and celebs are wearing now. It adds some serious shine all while keeping your toes warm. We love seeing these worn with a cute dress and leggings.

The Skirt

Pair a velvet mini with a turtleneck and tights to keep the rest of your body warm. And if you're feeling extra daring, color block for added oomph.

The Pants

Velvet pants are on another level of fashionable. We can totally see you wearing a monochromatic look like this. It really puts a big emphasis on the texture of the pants and gives off totally fashion blogger vibes. Bonus: It’s super minimal effort.

The Shirt

Velvet shirts are so pretty. We love this millennial pink that’s also really fashion-forward ATM. Style your velvet shirt with a pair of jeans and a cute blazer and you’ll be ready to take on the world.

The Accessories

Not ready to dive head-first into the world of velvet? Try working with a small accessory like a crossbody to get your feet wet first. You can wear it with basically anything you want without you getting overwhelmed with too much velvet.
