Hourglass: Bust and hips are approximately the same size

Hourglass hunnies have their pick of pretty much all the fashion out there. Pencil skirts, A-lines dresses, V-necks—anything that draws attention to your itty bitty waistline works wonders.

Avoid: Baggy dresses or tops. They just hide your enviable curves.

Petite: Smaller frame throughout top and bottom

Shorter sweeties dazzle in strapless dresses—especially sweetheart necklines and small bodices. To boost your height, stick with a solid color or pattern.

Avoid: Hemlines that go past the knee. Midi dresses do short girls no favors.

Ruler: Straight frame with little curves

The lace insets in this dress punctuate the midsection, creating the illusion of curves. Add more shape around your hips with a skater or A-line silhouette.

Apple: Broad bust (or shoulders), narrow hips

Even out your frame with a floaty or full skirt. For up top, a tank or cap-sleeve fit flatters broad shoulders.

Avoid: Strapless or flashy bodices. Your goal is to draw attention away from your top and to your hips.

    Plus: Curvier

Ahh, A-line skirts: the magical silhouette. Wear a frock that floats away from your hips while nipping at your waist.
