How To: Make your bikini look amazing all summer long
Ah, swimsuits. We live in them every single day during the summer (even it’s just to dash around in the sprinkler!), but all that wear ‘n’ tear can do a number on even the best bikinis. Here’s how to save some cash and keep that suit in tip-top shape all season.
Tip #1: Rinse your bathing suits after every wearing
If you’re only in the water for a little, it’s easy to convince yourself that your bikini is still clean, but that’s because you can’t see the harmful chemicals building up from chlorine. So don’t take the risk—rinse your suit after every wearing. Tip #2: Gently squeeze your bikini to remove extra water
Rather than wringing or twisting your bathing suit after swimming, gently squeeze it to avoid ruining its sweet shape. Tip #3: Hand wash your suits in cold water
Using detergents and washing machines can trash the shape and fabrics of your fave bikini. As much as it’s a pain, treat your bathing suits well by gently cleansing them either by hand or on the lowest washing machine cycle.
Tip #4: Let your two piece dry naturally
To ensure that your bikini maintains its shape, lay the pieces flat to dry or hang them up rather than using a dryer. Unfortunately, the strong heat from your dryer can destroy the fabrics in your bathing suit so always air-dry them instead.
