Bright Eyes: The best eyeshadow for your skin tone
Step 1: Determine what your skin tone is. There are two basic types of skin tone: warm and cool. Warm skin tones contain more yellow-red pigments, while cool undertones reflect pink or bluish-red shades. A shortcut to finding your skin tone is to look at the veins in your wrist. If your veins appear blue/purple then your skin under tone is in the cool (bluish) spectrum. If your veins appear green, your skin is in the warm-toned (yellow) spectrum.

Warm Tones
If your skin tone is on the warmer end of the spectrum, eye shadows in shades of green, brown, or gold will work best to enhance your warm features. If you’ve got brown eyes, golds and orange-y tones will make them look deeper, while greens and olives will play up green or hazel peepers. Find a palette to master the colorful smokey look, or play it safe with a single shade.

Cool Tones
Cooler skin tones work best with icy eyeshadows such as pale pinks, blue, silver and plum. Think Elsa from Frozen for color inspiration. Go simple with a single pastel pink or amp up your peepers with a trio of slate gray, palest purple and dusty rose shades. Psst: Purple looks gorge on all skin tones!
