ANTM Cycle 11: Who's Your Pick?
Ok first of all..WHAT IS GOING ON WITH TYRA? That mirror thing was completely unnecessary and totally weirded me out. I had to put the tv on mute because she was distracting me from the actual episode. The makeover episode is always so tearful and dramatical. Do these girls have NO idea how expensive the cost of highlights, extensions, cuts, and coloring? I would seriously rock a red pixie cut if it meant that it was free. Hair always grows back and something tells me that Tyra knows what she’s doing, she IS a top model after all.
Personally, I don't think any of the new looks were TOO crazy. Clark and Marjorie went brunette. Mckey, Samantha and Hannah are rockin' a shorter 'do and Analeigh went blonde bombshell on us. The craziest makeover went to Elina, girl is rockin' some serious red wavy tresses. It was a pretty big change but nothing to cry over. For such a strong personality, you'd think she could handle it right? And am I making this up or did Tyra tryout the red weave on another girl a few seasons ago? Where do you guys fall on the makeover scale? Would you go all out and love whatever they throw at you, or would you be the token girl crying over her pixie cut?
The challenge was a speaking challenge. Hannah did a great job of making the product her own and really being natural and she definitely deserved to win, but sometimes I don’t understand how girls that completely bomb the speaking challenges still stay on? Being on commercials and being a spokesperson for a specific product kinda comes with the model territory, if you cant do that then you're just not the whole package. Am I right? Is being a model mostly about being able to have strong photos or is it a combination of photos, personality and "selling" ability?
Things got a little testy between Brittany and Elina back at the house. I always get awkward when tensions rise and last night I was TOTALLY feeling for Elina. It’s not cool when girls gang up on each other and there always seems to be that one girl who is totally rude. The Catty Cathy Award goes to Brittany. Its one thing to be opinionated and objective, its a completely different story when you are just mean and obnoxious. Take a lesson from her girls, being strong and honest doesn’t mean you have to call people liars and push girls around, that’s just distasteful.
The photo shoot was cool, I thought ALL of them looked gorgeous. A little work on posing could be helpful to the majority but overall, none of the photos looked totally awkward or uncomfortable so it looks like this years batch of model wannabes have some semblance of awareness for their body. Elina's picture looked so gorgeous and serene and I think I am pulling for her to win the entire thing. Who’s your pick for America's Next Top Model?
