I was absolutely head-over-heels for this guy for a few years. We were always on and off again.  It was a big mess.  Finally, we decided to put the past behind us and just stay friends, even though I still had feelings for him.  He knew that and always took advantage of it. Guys with big egos can be like that.  One night texted me that he was at the bowling alley.  Didn't even ask me to come - just told me he was there expecting me to drop everything to go hang out with him.  I knew better than that and I was sick of him messing with my feelings, so I didn't answer.  A half hour passes by and he texted me, "Where are you?"  I told him I didn't feel like bowling. He kept bugging me until he finally said, "Whatever, you're a waste of time, anyway." I knew no matter what I said would just add fuel to the fire, so I just ignored him. Besides, he had been wasting my time sooo much longer.
