5 fall solo date ideas (and the playlist to use for them all)
Fall is the perfect time to hang out with your besties and your S.O., but it can also be the ideal opportunity to spend time with yourself. Solo dates can be a great way to get to know yourself better, learn new hobbies or even try something you've always wanted to do. Whether you're home alone on the weekends or need some space to yourself after a long day of school, we've got you covered for five trendy date ideas you can *totally* do by yourself!
1. Go on a picnic
The picnic trend started months ago, and people have not gotten tired of it. That's probably because they are *so* cute and fun! Pack yourself some amaze foods, bring a book (or two), maybe even buy yourself some flowers and put on the most adorable outfit. Don't forget a blanket and some sunnies! You could go to a local park, the beach or even your backyard. If you're really in need of a relaxing time, put your phone away and enjoy your own company. We know not having your phone can be challenging, but disconnecting from social media and any other distractions is so important!
2. Spend some time with *adorable* animals
If you love animals as much as we do, then this next solo idea is for you! Put on your fave outfit, grab a mask and head to your nearest cat cafe (or, if there isn't one near you, an animal shelter). Not only will you get some ah-ma-zing snacks, coffee or tea, but you also get to spend time with the cutest animals. That's a win-win for us. If you are taking the shelter route, not only will time with animals help you, but it will help them, too.
3. Start a movie or TV show journal

We're sure everyone has started, finished, and binged some TV shows and movies during the past year and a half. If you need an amaze activity to do this fall and want to document some of your fave movies and shows, this adorable DIY is perfect for you!
What you'll need:
- A journal
- Glue and/or tape
- Photos of your fave characters, logos or anything to do with the movie or show
- A printer
- Pens
- Pinterest (it's free if you don't have it!)
-(Optional) washi tape, stickers and glitter
After getting together your materials, start working on your journal. Maybe even bring it on your solo picnic date. A DIY is such a great way to get creative, spend some time with yourself AND re-watch your fave movies and shows.
4. Go on a hike and find the *best* reading spot
Hiking is seriously the perfect way to spend time with yourself and reflect on your day. If you're looking for a fun way to get outside this fall, try finding a new hiking trail or even a spot in your neighborhood! Pro tip: find a route with a comfy rest stop or bench where you can take a break and relax. You can stop to read your fave book, journal or even try songwriting. Taking a moment to reflect with yourself in nature can be the perfect detox from a long day of Zoom and a great change of scenery for your schoolwork.
5. Spice up your workout routine
Staying active and coming up with a fun workout routine can be the perfect way to de-stress and motivate yourself. When you aren't with your soccer or dance team, try finding a new way to get moving. You can try a low-impact HIIT workout and cool-down yoga flow or get creative and do a super fun dance workout (like with MadFit on YouTube). Many YouTube workouts feature your fave TikTok songs and Disney soundtracks, which are perfect for a quick morning pump-up before a fun day. If you're getting bored of your typical workout spot, try heading to the park, your backyard or even a workout class!
