My face always turns red!
Whenever I get called on in class or talk to my crush, my face gets totally flushed. I am not embarrassed or nervous, really, but I can’t stop it.
It doesn’t always take a hugely dramatic embarrassing moment to trigger the blush mechanism. It just happens. In fact, Dr. Vinay N. Reddy, assistant professor of pediatrics and human development at Michigan State University, says, “Blushing is completely normal when you’re embarrassed, upset or excited—and it may be the only sign, even to you, that you’re feeling embarrassed.”
Some people actually opt for surgery (endothoracic sympathectomy) to minimize blushing, but for you? Just try to relax when you are faced with uncomfortable sitches. The more you worry about blushing when you are chatting up your crush or talking in class, the more likely you are to turn a shade of red. Besides, how do you know your crush doesn’t find your rosy cheeks oh-so adorable?
