Your Bod

Is there a cure for blackheads?

I’ve been getting little black dots on my nose. I think they’re called blackheads. Is there a cure?
Those teensy dots on your nose are blackheads—pores plugged with dead skin cells and oils that turn black when exposed to air. Yew, ew—but totally normal.

Dr. Erin Welch, assistant professor of dermatology, University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, warns against squeezing, which can lead to scars: “The best way to get rid of them and prevent them from re-forming is to wash your face with a product containing salicylic acid.” If they persist, see a dermo.
