3 reasons you should include a jump rope into your workout
Bone health
Even though you may be young and aren't necessarily too worried about osteoporosis yet, it's always good to start early! It turns out that simply jumping up and down helps strengthen your bones and can prevent icky bone conditions that could be no good when you are older.
It's good for your heart
There's no better workout to keep your heart happy than jumpin' rope. Doing it on a regular basis improves your cardiovascular fitness. Plus, it gives your heart and lungs the ability to supply oxygen to working muscles. The best thing about this all? Amping up your heart health and practicing the rope at home can help ease loss of breath during exercise. You know, so you can avoid that embarrassing "I'm so out of breath" moment after walking up a flight of stairs next time.
It burns a ton of cals
When you jump repeatedly, your body burns up 1,000 calories an hour. Compare that to 200 to 300 calories burned per hour while walking. Even better, jumping rope (especially high-intensity) makes your body a calorie-burning machine (woohoo!). This means that when you add a jump rope into your workout routine, you'll be burning more calories not just during your workout, but throughout the entire day.
