Eat Right
60 secs to the perfect pre-practice snack
“About 30 minutes to an hour before practice, eat something with protein and carbohydrate in it, like a piece of fruit and string cheese or a peanut butter and jelly sandwich,” Laura says.
What should you stay away from? Energy drinks. “I know it's really tempting,” she says, “but there's no nutritional value there! Opt for real foods with real nutrients that will keep you energized for the entire practice.
One more thing: “Drink LOTS of water. Lots of times we feel sluggish when we're dehydrated, so if you drink plenty of water, you'll probably feel extra energized.”
