Delish Foods to Dig into this Fall
Autumn’s here and that means yummy fruits and veggies are cropping up all over. Not sure how to make the most outta the bounty? GL’s got a few tips for incorporating the season’s best into every meal.
Pumpkin Patch Oatmeal
Sweet Figgy Salad
Green-Girl Pizza
The next time your fam is whipping up pizza (or even if you order in), give your slice an extra-healthy boost. Once the pie comes out of the oven, let it cool for a second. Then, sprinkle on a cup or two of arugula (it’s a leafy green that has way more flavor than traditional lettuce) over the whole pizza. If your fam isn’t down for the experiment, toss the greens on your slice and enjoy.
Our all-time fave snack for fall? Old-fashioned apples with just a bit of cinnamon on top. So good, and good for you.
Oatmeal is a great way to start your day. Give the traditional bowl an autumnal twist by adding one or two tablespoons of canned pumpkin to your oats before you pop them in the microwave. Then, sprinkle on some cinnamon and a bit of honey (if you need it). A few slivered almonds add awesome crunch. The result? A super hearty and healthy breakfast.
Wanna give your daily salad a yummy twist? Add some figs. Start with a couple handfuls of mesclun greens (or whatever sort of lettuce you like the most). Then, top it with a couple of sliced figs. Sprinkle on some goat cheese. Top it off with balsamic dressing and dig in.
