Dessert for breakfast *is* possible with these easy recipes
Yep, you read that right—you *can* have dessert for breakfast! To all the dessert lovers out there, you probably wish you could eat dessert for three meals a day, but know that it wouldn't be the most healthy choice (sigh). Luckily for you, there are healthy and delish desserts that can be served any time of day. Intrigued? Keep reading for the run-down on healthy breakfast treats that you need to try ASAP.
Breakfast cookies
If you thought you'd never be able to have cookies for breakfast, think again! Taking a twist on everyone's favorite classic dessert, these energizing breakfast cookies are so delicious that you won't even realize how healthy they are. There are *so* many amazing breakfast cookie recipes, but our favorite calls for 1 1/4 cups of mashed bananas, 1/2 cup of PB, 2 cups of oats, 1 tbsp of honey and 1/8 tsp of salt. Add in any yummy additions you'd like (yes, that includes chocolate chips) and bake them at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Once they've cooled, enjoy your scrumptious breakfast that will double as the perfect after-school study snack. The leftovers have to go somewhere, right?
Chocolate overnight oats
It's your time to shine, chocolate lovers! Chocolate overnight oats are a healthy breakfast choice that will also save you some time in the mornings. To make this yummy treat, stir together rolled oats (1/2 cup), cocoa powder (1 1/2 tbsp) and chia seeds (2 tsp). Top with salt (1/8 tsp), yogurt (1/2 cup), nut butter (1 tbsp), milk (1/2 cup) and chocolate chips (2-4 tsp). Pop it into the fridge overnight and enjoy it the next morning.
Cinnamon apple oatmeal
Next time you make oatmeal, opt for adding naturally sweet apples and syrup to turn a traditional breakfast food into a scrumptious treat. Top this delectable breakfast with cinnamon and honey to make it even *more* amazing.
Healthy pancakes
Okay, so we know pancakes are basically *already* a dessert, but we've discovered the perfect way to make these breakfast faves as healthy as they are delicious. These scrumptious pancakes only have three ingredients: bananas, eggs and oats. Mash up one banana, crack an egg and add a handful of oats. Stir these ingredients together and pour the concoction onto the pan, flipping the hotcakes every few minutes. If you want to add a little something extra, garnish with strawberries and sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
Chia seed pudding
The verdict is in: you *can* have pudding for breakfast! Mix chia seeds (2 1/2 tbsp), almond milk (1/2 a cup), cacao powder and agave nectar to create this delicious chia seed pudding. Refrigerate the mixture for around two hours and enjoy this creamy treat.
Nicecream
Start your day off right with this delicious nicecream. All you need to create this yummy recipe is a blender, 1/2 cup raspberries, 2 frozen bananas, 1/3 cup protein powder, 1/8 cup almond milk and a freezer. Blend the ingredients thoroughly and then pop the mixture into the freezer until it's the consistency of ice cream. The last step? Enjoying this sweet and refreshing treat!
