There's nothing quite like doing some baking to get you into that holiday spirit! And we're not talking about just *any* baking. We're talking about the ultimate holiday baking challenge—otherwise known as building a one-of-a-kind gingerbread house. Get out your apron, cookie cutters and your fave holiday playlist because we're going gingerbread-making folks! 

If you already have your dream house sketched out, then you're ahead of the game. But if you're struggling to come up with the perfect theme, here's some of our favorites to give you some inspiration and get your creative juices flowing...

1) Dream house *goals*

First of all, woah. Second of all, I don't know about you, but this makes me want to be an architect and design my dream house. Try building your own dream house out of gingerbread. The beauty with baking is that there are no limits when it comes to the shapes you can create.

2) Welcome to the country

OK, how cute is this? Doesn't this just make you want to curl up by the fire and read a book or cuddle with a few furry friends under the stars? If you're an animal lover then this is the perfect theme for you because it lets you get creative with not just the house but also who lives in it!

3) Every cup deserves a teeny-tiny house

They're adorable teeny-tiny houses. Need I say more? Try changing up the size of the house and break the rules. No one ever said it had to be the size of a traditional gingerbread house...

4) Sugar *overload*

Are you ready for a sugar rush? Cause I sure am (and apparently so is this house)! If you want to make a statement and turn heads, go with a colorful bright and bold design like this one.

5) Why not make it a cookie?

6) The more the merrier

Go big or go home, right? If you really want to get fancy and go all out, instead of just making one house, design a gingerbread village! Get your family or roommates on board and have everyone create a house to add to the village! You can either all follow the same theme or do your own thing so that each house adds something new to the village.
