#GLgirl recipe: Watermelon peach sorbet
Looking for an ice-cold treat to cool you off the summer? Look no further than this fruity homemade sorbet. Check out the recipe below, submitted by GL reader Bri G., who makes it all the time with her buds, then whip it up yourself and let us know what you think!
Ingredients:
1 cup water
3/4 cup sugar
Juice from half a lime
1/2 small watermelon, cubed, seeds removed
3/4 cup sugar
Juice from half a lime
1/2 small watermelon, cubed, seeds removed
2 large peaches, chopped
Directions:
Mix stir together the water, sugar and lime juice over medium heat until the sugar dissolved. Remove from heat and cool. Meanwhile, puree the watermelon and peach in a blender. Once the liquid mixture has cooled, add it to your pureed fruit and refrigerate for a few hours. Then, pour into a home ice cream maker and blend and freeze. Store in the freezer before you're ready to eat it.
Don't have an ice cream maker? You can STILL make this recipe! Place your refrigerated fruit and liquid mixture in a shallow pan, then put it in the freezer. Every half hour or so, take it out and use a fork to stir it up and smooth out lumps. Gobble it up once it reaches a consistency you like.
