GL FOOD: Apples a la Mode

Want to nosh on apple pie a la mode but want to keep yourself from getting an applebottom? These yummy apples are easy peasy AND they are low in cals. Its a sweet treat for all you healthy hipsters out there that can’t quite give up dessert.

Ingredients:

Granny smith apples ( 1 per person)
Brown sugar Splenda,
No Sugar, No Fat Vanilla Ice Cream

Directions:

• Peel, slice and core the apples
• Place the apples flat side up in a microwave safe dish
• Sprinkle 3 tbs. Brown sugar Splenda across the top of the apples
• Cover the dish with plastic wrap, make sure to leave a vent in the plastic wrap
• Cook the dish for 6 minutes or until apples are tender
• Let the dish cool and add a scoop of ice cream to each apple half
