It’s so easy to flip open the pages of a magazine and fall in love with a $500 dress (trust us, we’ve sooo been there), but that’s totally not realistic. Before you set out to find your darling dress ask yourself how much you’re okay with spending and browse accordingly. If you’re on a tight budget, check all the clearance racks first for cute stuff on the cheap. If you’ve got some Christmas cash to spend, ask to see the new arrivals for the holiday season!

2. Does the dress suit your bod?

Every babe has a different and equally beautiful shape, but a dress that suits your besties may not exactly suit you. Find the perfect dress by asking yourself if the frock you’re rocking definitely flatters your bod and makes ya feel amazing. Only choose a dress if it sets you on fire, girl.

3. Are you loving the color?

Color is so important when it comes to shopping for a dress. By all means, don’t buy a blue dress if you’re all about bright red. Ask yourself the kinds of colors you love to wear and steer clear of the shades ya loathe. Black and red are classic holiday colors, but if you’re feeling fierce, look for hot white dresses or bold pinks, greens, purples and blues!

4. Will you wear it again?

There is zero point in buying a dress to wear once and then banish to the black hole that is your closet. Before you lay down the green on a frock, figure out if it’s the kinda dress you could wear to other parties in the future. There is nothing better than a holiday dress that can make ya look hot all season long, right?

5. Does it make you feel totally fab?

The most important question to ask yourself when shopping for the perf holiday dress is does it make you feel like a princess? When you step under the mistletoe with your crush or show up to a family night of festivities in this gown will you feel like a million bucks? If the answer is yes, you’ve got yourself a winner! There is no better feeling than the one that comes with finding the dress that fits you best.
