MAKE IT CUTE

DIYs

This chic DIY is *just* what your bedroom needs

You've probably seen these retro-chic light boxes on the shelves at stores like Urban Outfitters, Nordstrom's and Anthropologie. But you don't have to spend a lot of moolahyou can recreate the same look yourself with the tutorial below from I Spy DIY. The thing we love most about it? You can change up the saying every day, depending on your mood.

You’ll need:

- E600 Glue
- Vinyl letters
- Transparency sheets
- Spray paint in black and white
- Basswood in various sizes
- 2 white translucent acrylic sheets
- A piece of wood pieces (2in wide and 1/8in thick)

Directions:

1. Cut the wood to fit the perimeter of the white translucent acrylic sheets.

2. Spray paint the wood black. Once the wood pieces are dry, place one of  the acrylic sheets on a flat surface and glue the wood to the inside edge. Let dry.

3. Then glue the second piece of plexiglass to the top and let dry.

4. Spray paint the basswood whitethese will be used to create the front slots.

5. Now stack two pieces, one slightly smaller in width. Measure out where your ledges are going to be on the acrylic sheet, making sure they are evenly spaced so the letters fit. Glue the smaller one to the top plexi, then the bigger one on top. Make sure it’s centered to create a ledge on the top and bottom for letter slots. Let dry.

6. Using the vinyl letters and the transparency sheet, stick the letters to the sheet and cut out a rectangle around each letter so they will slide easily into each slot.

7. Create your message, and you’re done!

**Note: If you want to add a light, glue it to the inside of the frame, leaving the battery pack on the outside to be able to turn on and off.
