There’s no doubt that spring is in the air and for the crafter in all of us, this means time to DIY. Since it is planting season, there's no better way to get your hands dirty crafitng than to make these adorbable herb planters. They have a chalkboard surface you can write on, decorate and plant anything your green thumb desires. Check out the how-to below and get ready to add a little green flair into your life.
PS: This will totally make a cute Mother's Day gift, too!
What you’ll need:
- Individual Chalk Ink marker, $5, chalkink.com
- Martha Stewart chalk board paint, $6, darbysmart.com
- Terra cotta pots, $3, homedepot.com
- Potted lavender, $5, homedepot.com
Directions:
1. Start by painting your terra cotta pots. You can skip the brush like the original tutorial suggests and just opt for spray chalk paint, trust us, this will make your life so much easier. Just make sure you’re in a well ventilated area and wear a face mask if you can.
2. Mark your new planters with the name of the plant. You can even write the watering instructions on the pot as a reminder of how often you will need to water each plant. But really, this is where you can get super creative and show your own style.
3. Now it’s time to fill ‘em up. Gently tap your herbs out of their plastic pots that they come in and plant them in your newly customized planters. Add more soil if needed and water as directed.
4. There you have it! A super easy and cute planter to get you to start a dream-worthy mini garden this spring.
