Manly mug
It’s really difficult to find cool, macho DIYs for the men in your life, but we finally found one. This is the perfect gift for dad or granddad—super simple and practical. Get a plain mug from the dollar store and decorate it with an oil-based Sharpie (find at your local craft store). The great thing about this is you can personalize it to say whatever you want—super thoughtful and fun.

Pretty pennies
We know, we know. Pennies are the most useless coin ever. When you see a penny lying on the street, how often do you stop and pick it up? NEVER. But what if you could turn those pesky pennies into a beautiful DIY for your mom? Take an old vase and hot glue pennies to it in straight lines all around. The good news? 100 pennies=$1—it’s such an inexpensive DIY. Plus, the penny covering gives the vase a modern, copper finish that your mom will be sure to love.

Mason jar cookie mix
Your grandma spends hours in the kitchen slaving over a hot oven to make the perfect batch of cookies, so why not help out and give her the homemade taste in a jar? Sneak a copy of grandma’s famous recipe and start measuring out each ingredient, a few cups of flour here, a couple tbs sugar here (don’t forget the chocolate chips!), and dump the measured contents in a mason jar.

Plastic pet
When we found this DIY, we just knew we had to put it in a post because of not only how cute it is, but how easy it is! Take a mason jar (leftover from your grandma’s cookie mix gift) and hot glue a plastic animal toy (figurine, action figure, whatever) on the top. Spray paint the plastic figurine and the lid a fun color. This is perfect for your little bro to display on his desk and for your older bro to keep his change in.

Doily dreams
Your sister will adore this cute take on the classic dream catcher (and her nightmares will disappear). Take an embroidery hoop and wrap it in yarn. Connect a fabric doily to the inside of the hoop by wrapping the outer edge of doily and embroidery hoop with remaining yarn or string. Lastly, hang scraps of fabrics, strings of beads, feathers, etc. from the hoop. This is great because you can personalize it. Got a sister who’s super girly? Wrap the hoop in white yarn and white fabric to give it a timeless elegance. Is your BFF edgy and fun? Find straps of leather and attach cool studs to the dream catcher—she’ll love the new addition to her wall.
