My BF changed his Facebook status to "single"--without telling me!


I have a BF, but my friend says he changed his Facebook status to single. He really seemed to like me a lot in school. Does this mean we broke up?

His Answer: “The only thing you can do is really talk to him and ask him if he is breaking up with you. Don’t make the assumption that he is because there are multiple possibilities,” says Grant, 15. “One, of course, is that it is his way of telling you he’s breaking up with you. Two, he could be getting harassed by his friends into changing it. Or three, his friends may have done it as a joke, seeing how immature we guys can be.”
Decoded: Sometimes you just gotta be straightforward with your guy, even if he isn’t doing ya the same courtesy. If this is his way of telling you he’s breaking up with you, then he’s totes being a jerk about it and you’re probs better off without him. ('Cause let’s face it, who likes a jerk?) But, it may have just been a petty prank played by some immature dudes, and you have nothing to sweat.  

Your Move: Next time ya see him, pull him aside and ask him what’s going on. Even though it may take some guts to face your guy in person, it’ll prevent any miscommunications. If it was his friends, ask him to let them know that this relationship is his and not theirs, and to lay off. But if it really was him, tell him that you’d rather have had him tell ya face-to-face than via a status change.
