What's the rush to date?


Most of my friends have always talked about boys, I always said, "Wait till 14 or 15!" but now I'm not sure and most guys don't really talk to me.


Hey chica! Sounds like you need to figure out what you want– not what your friends want. Every girl works at her own pace, so don't rush into things just to fit in. Taking it slow and focusing on other interests until you’re age appropriate has its rewards, as you’ll have puh-lenty of time later to date and hang out with guys. Now's your time to be free to focus on friends, school and goals.


If you wanna add a few guys to your list of friends, all you have to do is strike up a convo, find common interests and make plans to hang out doing those interests. Focusing on your hobbies, such as biking, painting or cooking, can also help you get more guy (or girl) friends, as you’d meet people who like to do the same thing.


Plus, giving yourself enough time to become more emotionally and intellectually mature is a good reason to wait to date as well. Think of it this way: You'll appreciate and trust the worthwhile sweeties, and know better than to fall for the crummy meanies.
