Should I trust my long-distance BF?
I have a
boyfriend who lives about an hour away from me. I have been cheated
on before and now I can barely trust guys, so I don't know if I can
trust him. What do I do?
Long-distance
relationships can be tough, chica, especially if you don’t have the
whole trust issue down. Building trust is something that takes time,
so you need to let it develop. And just because you’ve been
cheated on before doesn’t mean it’ll happen again. Give your BF
some credit—staying in the relationship shows that he does care
about you and is making an effort.
It’s fine to
keep those calls, e-mails, and texts flowin’, but give him some
space to breathe. Yes, knowing what he’s doing at all hours of the
day will probably put your mind at ease, but it’ll only freak him
out and let him know you don’t trust him. If he says he’s at the
gym, you’ve gotta believe him—or else you’ll just start
stressing.
You have to ask
yourself if this relationship is worth being in if you’re going to
worry all the time. Having a boyfriend is supposed to be fun, so if
you find yourself stressing about him 24/7, it might be best to
re-evaluate the situation and figure out if this is best for the two
of you.
