Does playing hard to get actually work?


I really like this boy, and my friends told me to play hard to get. But I think he thought I didn't like him. How do I know when to stop playing hard to get? Do boys even like that?

His answer: “While playing hard to get may seem like a good idea, in the end it won’t help you out because he'll end up thinking that you're not interested,” says Matthew G., 16. “Guys like honesty, and they'll be appreciative of you acting openly and truthful towards him. By just being yourself and acting normally, he’ll know you're interested in him instead of sending him the mixed signals you usually would by playing hard to get.”

Decoded: Just how girls appreciate when guys are straight forward with them, guys also prefer that girls refrain from hiding their feelings. Boys would much rather a girl admit her feelings and show her confidence through her actions than act tough and distant by playing hard to get.

Your move: Take Matthew’s advice and be truthful and open with your crush. Don’t let something as unfortunate as playing hard to get stop you from ending up with your crush.
