Long-distance love
My BFF is a guy, and we know everything about each
other. I moved two years ago, but
we are still close. Last year, I
got the guts to tell him I like him. He liked me too, but because of the
distance, we never went out.
A few weeks ago, while visiting, we kissed. It
felt like a fairy tale. But since we don’t drive, we barely see each
other. My parents don’t get it and
say, “Every teen feels this.”
Dear Long-Distance Love,
Not every teen is lucky enough to share such a caring kiss. If you decide to try a long-distance relationship, fine. But romance from afar can take its toll. If you’re not both up for this or if it hurts too much, it’s better to bravely decide to remain special friends and enjoy feeling close without losing your heart. In a few years when you can drive, you might reignite the connection. Meantime, keep the memory of your kiss as a pleasant image, not a painful one.
