3 Olivia Rodrigo-approved books to add to your reading list
If you're still singing your heart out to "drivers license" two years after Olivia Rodrigo released her iconic SOUR album, you're probably as excited for her upcoming 2023 music drop as we are. But in the meantime, check out the next best thing to tide you over: three books recommended by Olivia herself. We promise that these reading recs are anything *but* sour.
1. Helium by Rudy Francisco
Helium is a poetry collection praised for its beautiful langauge and personal voice. From love poems to cultural critique, this short book still packs a powerful message. If this is one of her faves, we can see where Olivia got her lyrical writing style from.
2. The Marvels by Brian Selznick
In addition to the gorg cover, The Marvels is sure to be unlike any other book you've read before. Following different characters through nearly 300 years, this book uses both words and illustrations to tell the story of the Marvel family. You'll be on the edge of your seat throughout this fantastical adventure.
3. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon
15-year-old Christopher sees the world in a unique way. He's incredibly logical (and a major math whiz), but he's not so good at human emotion. The story begins when he decides to investigate the death of his neighbor's dog, Sherlock Holmes-style. No spoilers, but this book is sure to give you *all* the feels.
