On the hunt for a new horror novel? Shutter will make you shudder
In the book, Michele Helsing (yep, a descendant of the famous Van Helsing and the monster-hunting Helsing family) is in the family business. Armed with a specially updated SLR camera and a gun, Michele knows how to take down all sorts of ghosts and ghouls. It helps that she's a tetrachomat, meaning that she can see the auras of the undead.
Michele's also got her three best friends to help her, Oliver, Jude and Ryder, and they each have their own special skills that help them fight all sorts of demons and spirits. But when the gang gets into trouble during what should've been a normal hunt, they find themselves infected with a ghostly plague. With Michele's dad more likely to lock them up than to help, Michele is forced to try and figure out the cure to the curse before time runs out.
Will Michele and her friends be able to stand up against her dad? Or will their mysterious infection finish them off first? To find out, pick up a copy of Courtney Alameda's Shutter, available in stores and online February 3rd.
Would you be a kick butt ghost fighter like Michele? Who'd be your ideal monster-hunting crew? Share your thoughts below.
