The story starts when Cody’s best friend, Meg, decides to end her own life in a dark hotel room. Cody’s sure there’s more to the story, because there’s no way Meg wouldn’t have told her if she was unhappy.

But when Cody takes a trip to Meg’s college to collect the rest of her belongings, and to hopefully find answers, Cody’s left with even more questions. Questions about Meg’s life, and the people she surrounded herself with and about Ben McCallister, the band boy with the piercing eyes and knowing smirk.

After Cody finds an encrypted file on Meg’s laptop, she enlists the help of one of Meg’s former roommates to decode it, but nothing can prepare Cody for what secrets her best friend had been keeping from her.

Will Cody discover that something more sinister happened to Meg? Can Cody learn to cope with the loss of her other half? To find out, pick up a copy of I Was Here, in stores and online January 27th.
