H.A. Swain's Hungry will leave you craving more

Could you survive a world without food? Can you imagine never being hungry again? That’s exactly the norm in H.A. Swain’s Hungry.

In Thalia Apple’s life, food has completely vanished from anywhere and everywhere. It’s no longer an option for anyone on the planet. New technology has been invented called inocs, a medication people now take to keep themselves from ever being hungry. Food isn’t necessary, and that’s how mostly everyone wants it to stay—or at least that’s what it seems like to Thalia.

Thalia eventually meets a young boy who doesn’t seem to feel the same as the rest of the population. Unlike Thalia’s parents, he still believes in the power of food and doesn’t think that inocs are the most amazing invention to ever hit mankind. He is part of a movement that is on the DL, so he and Thalia have to start doing a lot of hiding and sneaking around. Obviously, Thalia can’t let her parents find out that she’s trying to bring food back into everyone’s life.

Not only are Thalia and her new peers basically trying to cause a revolution, she begins to realize that hunger might arise again. They start to feel the grumbling in their stomachs and think that maybe the inocs won’t work forever.

Will Thalia triumph, or will her parents and the inocs be in power forever? Make sure to pick up Hungry when it hits shelves tomorrow, June 3, to find out.
