From softball to spokesmodel, Riley May does it all
Being swept up from your normal life to be a spokesmodel sounds fun and exciting, but Jill Osborne’s new book Riley May and the Rock
Shocker Trek proves it’s more complicated than anything. Riley
Mae was an ordinary girl, who played softball and fought with her little
brother—that is until Swiftriver Shoe Company came along and chose her to be
the spokesgirl for its new line of sports shoes for girls.
It’s only a matter of months before her face and name are plastered everywhere and Riley Mae shoes become the hot new trend. In the words of Riley Mae herself, “I couldn’t think of anything any girl would want more.” But as her professional career grows, Riley Mae’s personal life suffers.
She’s forced to trade softball
practice and time with her BFFs for photo shoots and in-store appearances. But
just when she’s able to juggle it all, things with Swiftriver start to get
suspicious. When Riley Mae and her buds start to do some snooping, they uncover
some weird things going on in the company. Not only are the people behind
Swiftriver being untruthful, Riley Mae could be in danger—especially when her
family and the whole company pack up for a trip to Yosemite for a rock-climbing
photo shoot!
Be sure to pick up a copy of Riley May and the Rock Shocker Trek (out Jan. 28) to find out the fate of our new favorite girl.
