Regardless of her prodigy status, 16-year-old Lucy Beck-Moreau is unable to save her elderly piano teacher from a stroke. And then her own grandmother isn’t doing too well, and Lucy’s friend Reyna is having a tough time, too. What else could possibly go wrong?

Amidst the crises and distractions at home, Lucy strays away from the piano. She’s used to performing in enormous concert halls and reading reviews printed the next day. But now with her younger brother, Gus, taking the spotlight, she seems to have lost her thrill for music.

In between shuffling through pages of sheet music and leaving the craziness at home for coffee dates with Will, Lucy tries to find the girl behind the pianist posters and figure out who she really wants to be.
